Q: How long does the process take?
A: In practice the process takes approximately 3 months, this may vary. Due to the Covid-19 crises the process should take less time. The tax refund will include a 4% interest and linkage from the end of the year the refund relates to.
Q: Which forms should I attached to my tax refund application?
A: firstly, the 135 form which is the application form. In aadition one of the main forms that should be attached is a 106 form. A106 form is usually obtained from your employer and contains all of your accumulated paycheck data per tax year. Other forms that may be relevant: Bitoach Leumi certificate of Maternity Payments, Bitoach Leumi certificate of unemployment payments, annual certificate of pension fund deposits, life insurance deposits, bank certificate in respect to stock market activity, 161 form regarding cease of work compensation, etc.
Q: How would I get the refund money from the tax authority?
A: Approximately 3 months following the submison of the application to the tax authority the money will be transferred directly to your bank account.
Q: Can I get tax refunds for previous years back can I claim tax refunds?
A: Tax refunds can be claimed up to 6 years back as of the last tax year. Earlier years are not applicable.
